Meta celebrates Pride With LGBTQ+ Communities and Creators

Later this month, as part of our Metaverse Culture Series, we will explore the future of LGBTQ+ chosen family and community safety in immersive spaces with a custom Horizon Worlds experience. In Brazil, we’re resurrecting the biweekly video series #OrgulhoFamlia and hosting Pride Gaming in So Paulo.

This Pride month, we’re honouring the LGBTQ+ communities that are shaping culture and influencing how gender identity is expressed in our technologies.

Immersive Experiences for the LGBTQ+ Community

As part of the Metaverse Culture Series, we will be exploring the future of LGBTQ+ chosen family and community safety in immersive spaces later this month. We’re creating a unique experience in Horizon Worlds while also hosting a candid conversation with a select group of community leaders as we work to create a more equitable metaverse.

Check out the latest episode of Weird Times on Meta Quest, which explores the experience of coming out as a teen in today’s political climate, when LGBTQ+ rights are under attack.

On June 2, Horizon Venues will screen “March for Dignity,” a documentary that follows a small group of LGBTQ+ activists in Tbilisi, Georgia as they attempt to hold the country’s first Pride march.

Launching New LGBTQ+ Expression Tools and Resources

Throughout the month of June, you can use Pride-themed avatars and stickers in Facebook and Messenger’s Feed and Stories. They will be available all year.
